Growth — Getting To Where You Need To Be

Have you ever planned something out, and you can obviously see the difference between where you are and where you want to be? It’s like you can see that space, hole, or gap that’s between where you are and where you want to be – where you need to be. That space is known as a “Growth gap” . In order to grow you need to find or create a bridge to fill that gap. A few days ago I stumbled upon a famous John C. Maxwell book called “The 15 invaluable laws of Growth” . This wasn’t my first time seeing the book but this was the first time I actually attempted to read it. I’ll let you know my reason soon. In this book, at the very first chapter (The Law of Intentionality: Growth doesn’t just happen) I was hooked with a statement   If you have dreams, goals, or aspirations, you need to grow to achieve them. But if you’re like I was—and if you’re like most people then you have one or more mistaken beliefs that creates a gap that keeps you from growing and reaching your potential  ...

2020's Finally A Wrap....What Next?....Hey 2021!

Hello my lovely readers,  This is my first blogpost.... of 2021 of course, it's been a while. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas ? I just want to use this medium to appreciate you and to be thankful for all your support. Honestly the motivation, inspiration and the passion I have for writing comes from your love and guidance. It fuels me a lot and for that I am ever grateful to every single one of you. 2020 was quite the unprecedented year don't you say? The world faced a global pandemic, there was at every point in time a feud or protest on many occasions and the events of the year go on and on. Honestly whether you realize it or not, you've been through a whole lot this year. I just want you to know that you are an amazing person inside and out  Yes! You! You are so strong, beautiful and independent. This year might have been your toughest year yet but here you are. You're still standing! No matter the things you went through this year and th...

Just Checking in: Don't Stop the Grind, Keep PUSHing

Dear lazy Nigerian Youth, (I hope you felt the sarcasm)   I hope you've had a worthwhile week, I hope we're all praying for our country Nigeria.  This is just one of my check-ups to see how you're doing and to drop a small piece of positive thoughts. The last few weeks haven't been too good for some of us but regardless of the circumstances we still keep PUSHing on. To push has lots of meanings. Varying from compelling or urging someone to do something to exerting force on (someone or something) to move them away from oneself. There's another meaning that we may be familiar with. To PUSH is to pray until something happens. Today I urge you not to stop the grind and to keep pushing. PUSH in any way you can. Nigeria is bleeding, we need all the prayers we can get. No effort is too small or too large. Whatever it is you're doing, you've been doing or haven't started doing, I want you to know you're not alone. Don't stop the g...

How To Finally Break Up With Procrastination + Get Together With Productivity

Personally, I am a recovering procrastination addict. I would procrastinate various things from house chores to even paying bills.  Would you believe I procrastinated writing this post on reducing how we procrastinate? Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished by a certain deadline. - Wikipedia  What does procrastination actually cost us? Procrastination is the thief of time.  This can't be the first time we're hearing this statement. This very popular proverb/idiom simply means  Putting off an action leads to time-wasting. If something is necessary, it is best to act quickly to accomplish it.  You might be thinking that we have all the time in the world but you forget that time never stops, you can't get even a second of yesterday that has passed. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. This is giving us an insight into how precious time is and that a mere act or habit such as procrastination costs us something so pre...

Why We Compare Ourselves To Others and How To Stop

For as long as I can remember I have battled with comparison and I still continue to battle with it. I have compared myself to others in so many aspects of my life such as my academics, what clothes I have, the type of phone I'm using, how big the house I live in is, the kind of jewelry I wear and so many other aspects of life. I've always had this idea that mine had to be better than the guy or girl next door.  Comparing yourself to others doesn't make you a bad person neither does it mean it's a good thing to do. It's perfectly normal and it's part of life's challenges. Although comparison makes some of us feel better with ourselves, we forget that it's also short-lived and afterward we get this feeling of inadequacy, worthlessness, and overall unhappiness. So now I'm going to ask the million-dollar question.  Why do we constantly compare ourselves to others? 1. The belief that success looks a certain kind of way. We think that for you ...

Just Checking In: How Are You Actually Feeling?

Dear (inserts his/her name), It's been ages since we last interacted. I hope you are doing fine, staying safe, resting, being productive, and whatnot. Our last encounter was about two months ago and then school decided to take me away. I'm really sorry that I was gone for so long, I hope you forgive me. I have a very important question to ask you. Before I ask, I would love to spill some tea about my time away. Schooling online in Nigeria is a total disaster (Okay it's not a total disaster don't mind me)🥴. I won't even sugar coat it. We don't have the proper resources in this country to carry out E-learning. Is it Airtel and MTN you want to rely on? Don't even get me started on the power supply. Once you feel you've arrived PHCN (Power Holding Company Of Nigeria) will show you that you haven't. At first, I thought, oh yeah it will be as easy as taking an online class because I'm very sure some of us usually ta...

18 Things I've Learned In 18 Years

Heyyyyyyy guysssssss!!!! I'm sure you're wondering why the excitement ??? Well, it's a new month today and I love this month so much. Besides the fact that it's my birth month, it's also a month that shows how time flies. Half of the year has gone by and alongside the Coronavirus, a lot has happened to every one of us this year. The good, the bad, and the damn right ugly. But guess what?  Like Elton John would say "I'm still standing, yeah yeah yeah" We've come this far!!! Let's be grateful to God for that. Tomorrow happens to be my birthday and this young blogger is finally going to be legal. I can't wait *inserts dancing emoji*. The past 17+ years *wink wink* have been so amazing and filled with so many life-changing moments. Along the line, I picked up a few key lessons that have guided me and are still guiding me on this amazing journey called life. So here are 18 things I have learned in 18 years. 1. NOT EVERYONE WOULD LIK...
