Growth — Getting To Where You Need To Be

Have you ever planned something out, and you can obviously see the difference between where you are and where you want to be? It’s like you can see that space, hole, or gap that’s between where you are and where you want to be – where you need to be. That space is known as a “Growth gap” . In order to grow you need to find or create a bridge to fill that gap. A few days ago I stumbled upon a famous John C. Maxwell book called “The 15 invaluable laws of Growth” . This wasn’t my first time seeing the book but this was the first time I actually attempted to read it. I’ll let you know my reason soon. In this book, at the very first chapter (The Law of Intentionality: Growth doesn’t just happen) I was hooked with a statement   If you have dreams, goals, or aspirations, you need to grow to achieve them. But if you’re like I was—and if you’re like most people then you have one or more mistaken beliefs that creates a gap that keeps you from growing and reaching your potential  ...

How To Finally Break Up With Procrastination + Get Together With Productivity

Personally, I am a recovering procrastination addict. I would procrastinate various things from house chores to even paying bills.  Would you believe I procrastinated writing this post on reducing how we procrastinate? Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished by a certain deadline. - Wikipedia  What does procrastination actually cost us? Procrastination is the thief of time.  This can't be the first time we're hearing this statement. This very popular proverb/idiom simply means  Putting off an action leads to time-wasting. If something is necessary, it is best to act quickly to accomplish it.  You might be thinking that we have all the time in the world but you forget that time never stops, you can't get even a second of yesterday that has passed. Once it's gone, it's gone forever. This is giving us an insight into how precious time is and that a mere act or habit such as procrastination costs us something so pre...

Why We Compare Ourselves To Others and How To Stop

For as long as I can remember I have battled with comparison and I still continue to battle with it. I have compared myself to others in so many aspects of my life such as my academics, what clothes I have, the type of phone I'm using, how big the house I live in is, the kind of jewelry I wear and so many other aspects of life. I've always had this idea that mine had to be better than the guy or girl next door.  Comparing yourself to others doesn't make you a bad person neither does it mean it's a good thing to do. It's perfectly normal and it's part of life's challenges. Although comparison makes some of us feel better with ourselves, we forget that it's also short-lived and afterward we get this feeling of inadequacy, worthlessness, and overall unhappiness. So now I'm going to ask the million-dollar question.  Why do we constantly compare ourselves to others? 1. The belief that success looks a certain kind of way. We think that for you ...

10 Habits Of The Most Confident Person In The Room

The way they talk, the way they walk, the way they exhibit this amazing aura of high esteem when they step into a room. Who are they? Confident people  So how do you define self-confidence? In the simplest terms, It is a belief in oneself, the conviction that one has the ability to meet life's challenges and to succeed—and the willingness to act accordingly. Some people just have it,  others grow into it. How do they grow into it? What exactly is it that they do differently? Let's get into some habits of confident people. 1) THEY DON'T AVOID NEW CHALLENGES Have you ever wanted to try something new but fear held you back?  You've killed your dreams out of fear. Confident people acknowledge that fear is and would always be a natural part of the human experience. So they aren't scared to do difficult things or take up new challenges when the need arises. I've never met a confident person who runs away when the going gets tough, or when things seem scary...

The Benefits Of Getting Angry

Welcome to my YouTube channel !!! I've actually been dying to say that but sadly there's no content on there yet. How are you guys doing? How was your day How's your week going? I hope all were fine and you're going great My sisters and I have been throwing tantrums at each other for quite a while now (Ever since Rona😖). This is actually the first time in a long time that we're living under the same roof, seeing that I'm always away in school.  So recently during the aftermath of one of our infamous tantrums it got me thinking, what have we really gained from all the anger and aggression? These past weeks I've been away I've done some research about it and I discovered all sorts of good, sensible, civilized reasons to avoid getting angry but like all emotions anger also has its purposes, which can benefit us in one way or two. I'll have to warn you that everyone is different and some of you may not experience these benefits...

5 Signs That You're Afraid Of Getting Rejected ( based on personal relationships )

Hey guys, I'm glad you're back here.        I'm really excited about this particular piece because in many ways it's really personal. It took me quite a while to get it done to this point and I had some help from so many people. I know most people clicked the link because we're all curious cats. We want to know if we're exhibiting any of these signs. Others want to prove to themselves that they are not. Who knows you just might be. Try and read this piece with an open mind.            Rejection isn't a word anyone likes to hear, neither are the phrases "You just weren't good enough", " We're sorry but you didn't make the cut", "It's not you, it's me", " Sorry we're not hiring" These are all different ways to tell that you've been rejected. To be honest, rejection isn't a bad thing. When you get rejected, yes it means you've failed but it doesn't mean you'...

To Err Is Human, To Forgive, Divine

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear People that decided to click on the link , “TO ERR IS HUMAN; TO FORGIVE, DIVINE What does this statement mean to us? Does it speak to us? Do we learn lessons from it? Well honestly it should. Nobody’s perfect and I mean nobody, anyone who believes he is, should be regarded as the most foolish human being to walk the earth. I believe everyone is perfect in their own imperfections, impurities and most especially mistakes, everybody makes mistakes.  TO ERR IS HUMAN but is it necessary?  Whether we like to believe or not someone not making a mistake could be the worst mistake he’ll ever make. I once read somewhere that ‘a life spent making mistakes is better than a life spent doing nothing’ So I am telling everybody that happens to read this MAKING MISTAKES IS A GOOD THING it doesn’t matter how many you make it matters that the mistakes you make shape you into th...
